［日本-セルビア交流？］セルビアの音楽情報サイトSerbian Metal Portalからインタビューを受けました！

本ブログでは細々と、セルビアやバルカン産のメタル音源の紹介を中心に、関連するトピックを取り上げて記事にしてきましたが、このたび光栄なことに、セルビアのメタル情報サイト、Serbian Metal Portalからインタビューの依頼を受けまして、僭越ながら回答をさせていただきました。

そして実際にサイトの方にインタビュー記事がアップされたので、ここでその様子を紹介したいと思います。

きっかけは本ブログ連動のInstagram経由で、インタビューの打診を頂いたところから、でした。思わず飛び上がりそうな程の驚きでしたが、もちろん即答でイエスと返事。

それから英語でいくつかの質問をメールで送ってもらって、それに英語の返信を返す、という段取りです。Serbian Metal Portalはセルビア語のみのサイトになるので、自分が送った英文をセルビア語に翻訳して掲載するという事になっています。

ーZdravo（セルビア語の「こんにちは」）Serbian Metal Portal。まず最初に、インタビューのオファーを頂いてどうもありがとうございます！ブログライターとして、またセルビアとバルカンのメタルファンとして素晴らしい名誉です！

私は今日本にいて、状況は少々厳しいと思います。とりわけこのコロナ禍の状況では海外旅行などもとても難しいように思われますし。でもコロナウイルスとの戦いに勝利できることを願ってます。

２．私たちは偶然あなたのソーシャルメディアを見つけました。そこではあなたはセルビアやバルカン地域のメタルのプロモーションし、日本の読者に向けて紹介していますね。どんな風にそのアイデアを思い付いたのですか？

ー バルカン地域のメタルと関連したトピックに焦点を当てたブログを作ろう、というアイデアで”The World Won’t Hold Your Hand”ブログを2018年に立ち上げました。

ブログを立ち上げる前、オンライン英会話を始めてまして、メインに取っていたのはセルビアやボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ出身の講師たちでした。そこで幸運なことに、メタルファンの講師たちに出会えたというのがターニングポイントになったと思います。”メタル”講師達との会話を通じて、バルカン地域の皆さんは本当に親切だなと、そしてそこには深くて未知のメタルシーンがあるんだなと感じたんです。

それからはセルビアとバルカンのメタルシーンにかなり注目するようになりましたね。それでメタルとバルカン地域の文化にスポットを当てたブログを作ろうと思ったんです。

３．あなたのやってるブログ”The World Won’t Hold Your Hand”を私たちに紹介してもらえますか？ブログは全部日本語で書かれてますが、そこではどんなことを読むことが出来るんでしょうか？反応はどうですか？日本の皆さんは興味を持っていますか？

ーブログでセルビアやバルカン産のメタルの私のインプレッションを見ることができますよ。それがメインの記事内容で、それからバルカンの文化も紹介しています。食べ物とか、本とか、伝統音楽などなど。

正直なところ、ブログは今のところアンダーグラウンドな感じなのですが・・・反応は良いんじゃないかと思います。翻訳機能を張り付けているので、興味があればそれを使って読んでもらえますよ。載せてる記事が読者にとって良い、セルビアのメタルの情報源やイントロダクションになるといいなと思ってます。

４．あなたはセルビアのメタルのデモやアルバム、それからＴシャツのコレクターでもありますね。あなたのインスタグラムで沢山持っているのを見ました。どうやって入手してるのですか？それからあなたのコレクションに足りないものは何ですか？

ー音源をフィジカルなフォーマットで持つのが自分にとっては大事なんです。カバーアートとか、ブックレットのデザインとか、そういうのも含めて音楽のアートだと思うんですよね。

ＣＤやレコード、ＴシャツはだいたいDiscogsやBandcampを使って取り寄せてます。自分みたいな、現地（産地）から遠くに住んでる人にはかなり便利ですね。

セルビアのメタルシーンはかなり深くて広いので、欠けてるピースの数というか音源の数は膨大ですよ！探求の長い旅、みたいな感じですね！

５．Serbian Metal Portalには「TOP3」というコーナーがあります。あなたがセルビアのバンドに関する十分な知識があるのを、私たちはどうやって知ったらいいでしょう？バンドあるいはアルバムを３つ挙げるとしたら、どれを選びますか？

ーセルビアのメタルについて充分な知識があるかどうかは分かりませんし、どのくらい知ってるかをどんな風に示したらいいかも分かりませんが・・・でもTOP3を選んでみましょう。

このアルバムにはホントにミステリアスかつロマンティックな感触があると思います。同時に邪悪で、時おり甘美でもありますね。そんな雰囲気が大好きなんです。マジカルなシンフォブラック、ですね！

このEPは耳と脳を震わせますね。ブラストビートの嵐と無慈悲なリフがブラックメタルの純粋な狂気を表してます。ヴォーカルも内なる毒みたいなものを投げかけてるというか吐き出してるというか。狂気と同時に知性をも感じるんですが、そのへんの要素のバランス感覚が素晴らしいと思います。カッコいい。

・Paimonia – Disease Named Humanity

人間嫌いというか厭世観というか、の見事な表現方法みたいなアルバムです。色味はないけれど暗黒の色彩が存在してるみたいな。メロディーは甘すぎず、でもとてもエモーショナル。そういうのがブラックメタルに完璧にマッチしてると思います。素晴らしい作品。

［レビュー］Paimonia – Disease Named Humanity (セルビア/ブラックメタル）

高校生くらいの時からメタルを聴いてます。ブラック、デス、スラッシュ、ゴシックあたりが好みです。という事でメタルのダークサイドに魅かれてるという感じです。TOP３全部ブラックメタルなのも、そういう理由ですね。

６．日本とセルビアのメタルについて話題にすると、あなたにはノヴィ・サド出身のSenshiについて尋ねざるを得ません。彼らは日本でリリースもされていて、ツアーも行っています。ご存じでしたか？

ーSenshiは日本では最も知られたセルビアのバンドではないかと思います。”Rise Again”が自分のお気に入りで、その曲では三味線奏者のなつみゆずさんがコラボしてますね。三味線は日本の３弦の伝統楽器です。メタルと日本っぽさの素晴らしいコンビネーションですね。

７．セルビアのメタルバンドのライブを見たことはありますか？またフェスに参加したことは？

ーはい、2019年にノヴィ・サドでSacramental Bloodを見ましたよ。Cannibal Corpseのツアーでオープニングアクトをやった時のです。それからクラグイェバッツでのArsenal Fest 2019にも行きました。そこでMud Factory、Dead Joker、Pero Defformero、Alitorを観ましたね。どれもめちゃ良くって楽しかったです！

幸運なことに、観に行ったライブ会場ではセルビアのメタルファン達との忘れられない出会いがあって、素晴らしい時間を一緒に過ごすことが出来ました。

８．あなたは旅行好きで、セルビア以外の国にも行ったんですよね。旧ユーゴはどうでしたか？食べ物とかスポーツ、トラディショナルフォークは好きですか？逆に嫌いなものは？

ー2019年にセルビアとボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナを旅行しました。ベオグラード、ノヴィ・サド、ウジツェ、それからサラエボを回りました。上の質問でお話したライブを観たり、サラエボではMostar Sevdah Reunion（ボスニアのドラディショナル・フォークバンド）を観にビアフェスタにも行きました。

旅行中のすべての体験が素晴らしいものでした。旧ユーゴスラヴィアの雰囲気が大好きです。会った人たちは皆フレンドリーで親切でしたし、食べ物もめちゃ美味しかったです。カラジョルジャヴァ・シュニツラとかブレクとかギバニツァ、チェバピにアイバルなどなど。一方で、旅行中時々遭遇した嵐と雷には驚かされました。ちょっと怖かったです。

実際届いた質問と、自分が回答した内容。見返すと細かいミスもちらほら。

1. Hello Tatsuki, how are you? Where are you now and how does this situation that affected the whole world seems to you?

－Zdravo!! Hello & Greetings Serbian Metal Portal.First of all please let me say thank you so much for offering this interview!It’s obviously great honor as a blog-writer and as one of a fans of metal from Serbia and Balkans!
I’m in Japan and the situation seems little tough  for all.Especially ,it seems so difficult to travel abroad under COVID situation but I really hope that we’ll get victory for fighting against coronavirus.

2. We accidentally found your social networks and found out that you are promoting the metal scene from the Serbia and Balkans and presenting it to your homeland Japan. How did you come up with that idea?

－My blog “The World Won’t Hold Your Hand” was launched in 2018 with the idea that making a blog focusing on metal from Balkans and related topics.
Before that launch,I started to take online english classes and teachers on there were mostly from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Luckily,I could meet some Metal-head teachers in those online classes and it was a sort of my turning point.Through conversations with “metal”teachers,I actually felt that  people from there are really friendly and there is deep and unknown metal scene around Balkans.
After that,my musical focus and interest was completely on the Serbian and Balkan scene.So I decided to have a blog focusing on metal scene and cultures from Serbia and Balkans.

3. Can you introduce us to your blog TWWHYH you are editing? It is completely in Japanese, what can be read there to find out? What are the reactions? Are the Japanese interested?

－You can read my impressions about metal from Serbia and Balkans.It’s main contents of my blog.And you can also read some introductions about cultures of Balkans like food,books and traditional music etc…
To be honest,currently my blog is still in kind of underground.But reactions are good.
Translator is available on my blog so you can use it to read if you are interested in.I really hope my articles would be nice introduction and resources of Serbian metal for the readers.

4. You are actually a collector of Serbian metal demos, albums, t-shirts, we saw on your Instagram that you have a lot of them. How do you get to them? What are you missing in the collection?

－Having physical releace is really important to me!I think materials like cover artwork,design of booklet etc itself shows musical art.
I mostly use Discogs or Bandcamp to get Serbian metal CDs,records and T-shirts.Those are really useful especially for a person living on far from the legion like me!
Serbian metal scene is really deep and wide.So the numbers of missing pieces are HUGE!It’s like a long journey of exploring!

5. We have a section on our portal called TOP3, and how do we think you know enough about bands from Serbia, which 3 albums or bands would you single out?

6. When Japan and metal in Serbia are mentioned, we can’t help but ask you if you’ve heard of the band Senshi from Novi Sad, they released and had a tour in Japan.

－I think Senshi is one of the most famous metal band from Serbia in Japan.The song “Rise Again”is my favorite and the song features Yuzu Natsumi,Japanese Shamisen player.Shamisen is Japanese traditional 3strings instrument.There’s great combination of metal and Japanese flavor.

7. Have you had the opportunity to watch some of the Serbian metal bands live? Have you visited any festivals? Of course, when it was possible…

ーYes,I’ve seen Sacramental Blood in Novi Sad in 2019 as opening act for Cannibal Corpse’s tour.
Also I visited Arsenal Fest 2019,Kragujevac and I could see Mud Factory,Dead Joker,Pero Defformero and Alitor at there.Shows were so exciting and I had so much fan!
Fortunately,I could have memorable  meetings  with Serbian metal fans at those live shows and have great time with them.

8. Also, you like to travel, you have visited the surrounding countries. How do you feel about the former Yugoslavia? Do you like food? Sport? Traditional folk music? What you don’t like?

－I’ve traveled Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019.I visited Belgrade,Novi Sad,Uzice,Kragujevac and Sarajevo.
I saw some live show I mentioned above,and at Sarajevo,I went to Sarajevo Beer Fest to see Mostar Sevdah Reunion.
Whole experience during that trip were awesome!I love atmosphere of former Yugoslavia!All people I met were really kind and friendly and foods I tried such as Karađorđeva šnicla,brek,gibanica,Cevapi and ajver etc…were very good!
On the other hand,sometimes sudden thunderstorm happened during the trip and it was so surprising and little scary to me.
